The boiler upgrade scheme is a Government backed scheme operated by OFGEM the UK energy regulator.
The scheme designed to offer a cash incentive to home owners to make the transition away from an existing fossil fuel boiler to a heat pump. Self builders are also eligible for the grant if installing a heat pump in a newly built property.
The aim of the BUS is to increase the amount of heat pumps being installed in England and Wales to meet the UK's future emissions goals
Your property must meet a minimum epc standard as defined by OFGEM. In general the property must have double glazed windows, a good amount of loft insulation, and cavity wall insulation (if possible).
The grant amount has just been increased from £5,000 to £7,500 as of September 2023.
At Plumbtec, we arrange all of the paperwork and submit the application to OFGEM on your behalf. This makes the process even easier for our clients. Contact us today for more information
